INSTRUCTIONS:

Even though the seal is broken, you have received a new, never used, Invisible Deck. In order to make an Invisible Deck, a standard deck of Bicycle cards is opened. The cards are treated and placed in order to make the trick work. USPCC does not do this procedure, so we do it for you.

Secret The deck uses a magic principle known and “Rough and Smooth” to make the cards cling together. You will find that the cards are oriented back to back. Make sure they stay in the same order. If you spread the cards, you will find that all the cards that are face up are either odds or even numbered cards. If you flip the deck over, the cards will all look face up, but with the other (odd/even) cards. Each pair totals 13. Hearts and Spades are back to back. Diamonds and Clubs are back to back. The rough texture allows the cards to stay together, but the slightest touch will cause them to separate.

Basic Handling: You can make any card in the deck appear to be the only card turned over in the deck. Make sure the even/odd named card is faced down and simply fan out the deck. When you find its pair use slight pressure to separate the cards. The back of the named card will appear face down amongst an entire deck of face up cards.

Helpful Tips 1) The deck should be broken in before it is used to perform. Make sure you know how much pressure needs to be applied to move the cards. It really is the slightest amount. 2) The deck can be shuffled so that the order appears more random, but be careful to keep the pairs and suits together. 3) Hearts are paired with Spades, and Spades are an upside down Heart which is a good way to remember what suits are paired.

Routines 1) The Classic: Remove an “invisible” imaginary pack of cards from your pocket. Go through the actions of having a real pack of cards, shuffling and cutting the cards. Have the spectator select a card in their mind and then pretend to reverse it. Put the deck back in your pocket, then pull out a real pack of cards of cards. Spread the cards and the one card is reversed.

2) The Match: Hand a real pack of cards to a spectator and ask them to place the cards behind his back. Instruct him to take any card and reverse it. Have them bring out the pack of cards and spread them face down, revealing their reversed card face up. Remove the trick pack of cards from your pocket and spread them revealing his card face down– it’s a perfect match.

3) Cellular Card: Ask a spectator to call a friend and ask the person on the other end to name a card. Remove the trick deck from your pocket, spread the cards revealing one card face down – it is the same card named by the spectator.

4) Three: Have three spectators assist in selecting a card. One chooses the color, one chooses the suit, and the other spectator determines the value. Remove your deck from your pocket and spread the cards revealing one card face down – it is the same card chosen by all three spectators.

5) Name Your Card & Bob: There are several tricks on the market that involve selected cards with names on their backs. You can create your own version with your Invisible Deck. Write the name “Bob” or “Your Name” on the backs of all the cards in your Invisible Deck then replace them in their original positions. Have someone think of any card in the deck. Say “Wouldn’t it be amazing if I could name your card?” or if your name would appear on the back. Then say, “The name of your card is Bob!” This will get a big laugh or say guess what your name is on the back of your card. Ask them the name of the card they were thinking of. Remove your Invisible Deck and spread through the cards revealing his card face down. They will see the name “Bob” or your name on the back. Flip the card over to show it is the card.

Options: Some magicians prefer a different card arrangement. (Some like all of the Hearts and Clubs on one side and the Diamonds and Spades on the other.) You can certainly re-arrange the cards to suit you. If you drop the cards, email us and we’ll send you a list the card pairs so that you can put your deck back together.
